GAME RECAP: 11/20 VS Predators @ Butler Dek

Ty recapped the game for us.  Did Pott, Who's this Dave, and Gavin play for us?

Figured I’d try my hand at a recap. We won 6-1. I believe I had 4 assists.

It was apparent from the start that the Predators would try to do justice to their name as several of them showed off their bulging 10” biceps with their cut-off shirts. Unfortunately for them their intimidation factor was actually a non-factor and they were outplayed from the drop of the ball. The dew on the rink made the game much slower than it would have been otherwise.

On the first shift of the game, Ty shot the ball wide from the left circle and it took a fortuitous bounce to Adam at the right circle who ripped one past the goalie with a nice wrist shot. A few minutes later into the period Ty and Adam came down on a 2 on 1, Adam opened up for the one timer and blasted a slap shot past the goalie who appeared to be searching for the hole in the back of the net. We added another goal and Shoup kept them off the board in the first period. End of 1, BMP: 3, Predators: 0.

The second period had a little less scoring action as only two goals were scored. However, “who’s this Dave” showed off his spectacular array of sliding skills as he could be found multiple times gliding on his backside across the rink to make defensive plays. Ty and Doug had a 2 on 1, on which Doug snapped a shot past the goalie to put BMP up 4-0. The Predators were able to get one past Shoup as Ty and Phil got mixed up on a defensive assignment and the player in front was able to re-direct a one timer home. Pott’s son Gavin made a guest appearance at the game and was putting on a stick handling exposition in the corners leaving the Predator’s defensemen speechless, clueless and devastated.

The final ten minutes included more of “Who’s this Dave” giving the rink an up close and personal view of his rear, while Pott’s continued his defensive dominance with some nice passing thrown in the mix. Phil decided it was time he test the waters of the offensive side of the game and lo and behold on his first shift at offense he took a pass in the slot, summoned the spirit of Teemu Selanne, and turned it from the backhand to forehand and beat the goalie five hole. Shoup was busy in the third period and if the Predators attack wasn’t enough, we decided we’d test him ourselves. In clearing attempts Phil put two of the best shots of the game on Shoup who turned them aside and Adam looking to make a long cross-rink pass to Doug fired one into the pads of Shoup from the corner would have went in had Shoup not been hugging the post like it was his first girlfriend all over again. The final goal of the game in the last 30 seconds when our other sub who’s name appeared to be “Beast” as that was on the front of his shirt fired a wrist shot from the point which was deflected in by Gavin.

Final score. Bud’s: 6 Predators: 1.
